Dosdude Big Sur

MacOS Catalina Patcher. MacOS Catalina Patcher, the successor to macOS Mojave Patcher, is an all-new, easy-to-use tool that allows anyone to install macOS Catalina on unsupported Macs. One of my production Mac is still on Mojave. I want to update to Catalina and not Big Sur (waiting for dust to settle down). Automatic update from system preferences only proposes Big Sur as well as some patch updates for MacOS 10.14.6. Dosdude and Big Sur? Dosdude and Big Sur? OnyX

Viewed 724 times. In the past, older Mac Pro machines have not been supported by newer macOS releases due to standard features on the machine (e.g. Bluetooth wasn't standard on 2008s, limiting Sierra) or by CPU extensions (SSE 4.2 required for Mojave). With the announcement of Big Sur, Apple states that you must have a 2013 'trash can' Mac.

OnyX is a multifunction utility that you can use to verify the structure of the system files, to run miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning tasks, to configure parameters in the Finder, Dock, Safari, and some Apple applications, to delete caches, to remove certain problematic folders and files, to rebuild various databases and indexes, and more.
OnyX is a reliable application which provides a clean interface to many tasks that would otherwise require complex commands to be typed using a command-line interface.
WARNING:
There is a specific version of OnyX for each major version of the operating system.
Use the correct version, and don't try to use a version intended for an earlier operating system.
